Looking to buy tickets for a Boca Juniors football match? Itโs doable, but letโs be honest: they are incredibly limited. Donโt worry, thoughโthereโs a proven way for tourists to get their hands on one! Check out here for ticket availability.
In this guide, Iโll share the best way to secure your seat at La Bombonera, explain why the system is so “unique,” and help you avoid the scams that break many travelers’ hearts.
Attending a match here is a bucket-list dream. Boca Juniors plays at the iconic La Bombonera in the heart of the La Boca district in Buenos Aires. While the stadium holds around 49,000 people, the demand is ten times that.

Why is it so hard to get Boca Juniors tickets?
To understand how to get in, you have to understand the “Socio” system.
A few years ago, ticket sales were handed over entirely to supportersโ groups called Socios. Local fans subscribe to a waiting list for a member card, and the wait time currently sits at over 6 years. Because of this, tickets almost never go on public sale.
The “Grey Market” Reality:
Since members often can’t attend every game, they lend their seasonal pass (member card) to brokers or agencies for a fee. This is how 99% of tourists get in. Trying to do this on your own on the street is hopeless and frankly dangerous due to the high volume of fake cards.

The Best Way to Get Tickets (Safely)
Since a couple of years, I have been working directly with Nicolas, a local expert who organizes professional football experiences in Buenos Aires (Boca Juniors, River Plate, and more).
Why I recommend this over a random website:
- Safety: It includes hotel pick-up and drop-off (essential for La Boca at night).
- Expertise: You get a guide who stays with you during the game.
- Guaranteed Entry: No fake tickets or “sorry, the card didn’t work.”
Iโve created a dedicated request page to make this easier. Nicolas will get in touch with you directly to coordinate.
โ ๏ธ Avoiding Scams and Fake Tickets
The market is full of “too good to be true” offers. Here is what to watch out for:
- Viagogo: I personally do not trust or recommend them for Argentina. High cancelation rates and zero local support.
- Street Sellers: Do NOT buy tickets outside the stadium. They are almost 100% fake, and you will be turned away at the three different police checkpoints.
- Pricing: Expect to pay between $160 USD and $400 USD. If someone offers a “Boca ticket” for $50, itโs a scam.
When to Book (The “Argentina Factor”)
In Argentina, the AFA (Football Association) is famous for changing match dates at the last minute.
- The Rule: Match dates are usually only “confirmed” about two weeks in advance.
- My Pro Tip: When booking your flights, arrive a few days before the scheduled weekend and leave a few days after. Things shift constantly, and you donโt want to miss the game because it moved from Sunday to Monday!
Plan B: Visit the Museum and Stadium Tour
If a match isnโt happening during your stay or tickets are out of budget, you must still visit the stadium.
- The Experience: A guided tour through the stadium and the Museo de la Pasiรณn Boquense.
- My Advice: Book your tickets online in advance to skip the massive lines that form daily.
Iโve visited the stadium with friends and family more times than I can count, and the atmosphere in La Boca is electric even on non-match days.

Whether you want the full match-day madness with Nicolas or just a tour of the hollowed grounds, make sure you plan ahead.

I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance if possible. The closer to the game, the more expensive the tickets will be, but it’s worth it to avoid the long lines and crowds.
Just wanted to say thank you! We were really nervous after reading about how difficult it was to get tickets to a Boca juniors match. Landingpadba were wonderful! Funny guides, well organized and great seats! Muchas gracias!! Which tango show do you like the best?
I got tickets from Wander Argentina as a surprise for my hubby for his birthday. They were cheaper than anywhere else and amazing seats by the field.
Lucy โ can you email me about your experience with Wander Argentina? lakersjesse8@yahoo.com
Hi Glenn! Thank you for honestly stating, that it is “impossible” to get the ticket for mens matches. But what about womens team? Are there higher chances for a tourist? Do you have any idea how can one get there? Thanks!
Hi Karel, I’m not really informed about the womens team. I will try to get some info and updates as soon as possible.
Hi Glenn, after 51 years i will finally be in Argentina to hopefully see Boca play against Arsenal on 3/11, can you please provide the absolute best way if any I can get 2 tickets to this game please. I am coming from Australia finally and would hate to miss this chance to see them live as I will never get this chance again, any help would be much appreciated, thanks George
Hi George, thank you for visiting our website and welcome to Buenos Aires. Getting tickets for Boca Juniors is difficult. I would suggest contacting Landingpadba. This is not a guarantee for getting the tickets. At this moment there are no other ways. Have a pleasant stay in Argentina ๐ Cheers.
Why don’t you trust viagogo?
Hi Bruce, travelers contacted us with their review about Viagogo. Often we receive the story of fake tickets or cancellation at the very last moment. Therefore, the chance of a valid ticket and that you will actually see the game is very low.
Is there other trusted companies that sell tickets for Boca matches? Thank you
Hi Roger, the only trusted way at this moment is Landingpadba. Cheers!
