I recommend 15 tango shows in Buenos Aires, and they are very different. 7 of them are classic dinner shows in the old houses of San Telmo, where tango was born. Tango Porteño and Señor Tango are big-stage spectacles, while Bar Sur and Café Tortoni are small and close to the dancers. How much does a tango show in Buenos Aires cost?
A ticket for the show only starts at USD 39 per person (Tango Porteño and Madero Tango). Dinner and show starts at USD 75 (Señor Tango). Most show-only tickets include one or two drinks. VIP, wine-tasting and tango-class packages cost more. These are my prices when you book with me.
Which tango show starts earliest?
Café Tortoni has shows at 18:00 and 20:00, and Aljibe at 20:15. If you want dinner and a show, Aljibe starts earliest: dinner at 19:00 and the show at 20:15.
What is the difference between "only show" and "dinner and show"?
With only show you arrive just before the show, and most tickets include one or two drinks. With dinner and show you have dinner at the venue first and stay for the show. Many shows also offer VIP packages with better seats.
Can I combine a tango show with a tango class?
Yes. Michelangelo, La Ventana, Tango Porteño, Aljibe and Gala Tango offer a package with a tango class before dinner and the show. No experience needed.
Can I be picked up at my hotel?
Yes, for 12 of the 15 shows you can choose hotel pickup and drop-off when you book. Bar Sur, Secreto Tango Society and Café Tortoni have no pickup: take a taxi or an app ride.
Can I cancel my tango show for free?
For every show except Café Tortoni, yes: you can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the show. You always see the cancellation rule of your show before you pay.
What should I wear to a tango show?
Smart casual for men and women. Beach outfits and beach sandals are not allowed.
