Argentina is without a doubt the ultimate football country. The atmosphere in and around the stadium is contagious and an adventure. But buying football tickets in Argentina is an adventure as well. In this article, I’ll explain why it’s sometimes difficult to get a soccer ticket and also where you’re best off buying your football tickets in Buenos Aires.

Football Tickets in Argentina
As mentioned earlier, buying football tickets in Argentina is quite an adventure. Let me quickly explain why.
In Argentina, the sale of football tickets is controlled by the fan associations or a local travel agent. These registered supporters or travel agents are the ones who have the football tickets and “loan” them out for sale to tourists.
If you compare this to clubs in other countries, like FC Barcelona, you can buy a ticket at the ticket office or online on the club’s official website. In Argentina, that’s not possible.
So, you’ll always need to go through a travel agent or an Argentine contact to get your tickets.
I hope this gives you a bit of an explanation of why it isn’t as easy as in other countries.
Football games calendar
Another part of the adventure is the football schedule for the season. The fact is, the schedule can change up to 2 weeks before the match.
So, if you buy an Argentina soccer ticket for a match 4 months in advance and plan your trip to Buenos Aires around it, you might get a notice just two weeks before saying the match is on a different day or time.
My advice: stay in Buenos Aires for 2 days before and 2 days after the initial match date. I’ve experienced it several times where a match was originally set for Sunday and got moved to Saturday. By keeping this in mind, you can plan your stay in the city a bit better. Check out here where it is best to stay in Buenos Aires.
Football tickets in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires truly is the football capital. It’s an incredible experience if you’re a football fan. The atmosphere is indescribable. I highly recommend going on a football adventure with my contact, Nicolas. For example, at Boca Juniors or River Plate, you’ll need some guidance to get through the security checks.
If you’re going to watch a football match in Argentina, you have to experience the pre-match atmosphere too. With Nicolas, you’ll be fully immersed in the local football culture. Watching football in Argentina isn’t just about the match itself.
