I always like writing a post about San Telmo and now especially about the best hotels in San Telmo. Since 2017 I live in this neighborhood in Buenos Aires and always recommend them to anyone who wants to get to know the older city part of Buenos Aires. Also, in my opinion, San Telmo has that special authentic vibe. Below I present you the best hotels in the oldest neighborhood.

Anselmo Hotel is located in the absolute center of San Telmo. You cannot have a better location. It’s located on Plaza Dorrego, the square in San Telmo. On Sunday you just need to leave the hotel and you find the famous San Telmo Sunday market in front of you. Also, behind the corner you have San Telmo Mercado.
Anselmo is a 4-star hotel by Hilton. The hotel has a mix of modern and natural elements in its design. Some rooms have a balcony with a view of the square where you can see during the day live street tango.
The hospitality of the staff is super. Standard Argentina-style breakfast with bread, croissants, juice, coffee and more.
This 19th-century renovated building houses now Patios de San Telmo. A 4-star hotel located in the heart of San Telmo. Very central location near Mercado de San Telmo and the Presidential Palace. There are many food bars and restaurants located nearby.

This is NH Buenos Aires city hotel, a 5-star hotel located near San Telmo. I know, it’s not San Telmo. But, the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires is not that big. That’s why I show you this hotel. It’s located 5 blocks from San Telmo and has all the hotel facilities you need. On top of that, it’s just one minute’s walk away from the city-city center 🙂
Spacious rooms and excellent continental breakfast. This hotel is perfect to start your day trip to every point in the city. On the main square (a 1-minute walk) are two metro lines departing. And after a long day in the city, you can take a swim in the rooftop pool.

L’ Adresse Hotel in San Telmo gets my attention every time I pass by. From the outside, it has already a cozy impression.
For me, the rooms are one of the most authentic Argentine house feelings. Wooden floors, high ceilings, and a small balcony path to other places in the hotel. The rooms are accessible by stairs only.
The breakfast is standard, not impressive but for sure good! Also, behind the corner, there is Avenida Caseros. In the morning, you can get there a coffee and croissant. Also, the perfect street for dinner! On top of that, it’s two blocks away from where I live 😀
InterContinental Hotel is located on the edge of San Telmo near the iconic white building of Evita. It’s worth mentioning this 5-star hotel because of the facilities and location. Close to the historic center and major attractions.
It is a classic luxury-style hotel with great views over the city. Great entrance hall with high ceilings and a piano in the middle. InterContinental has a swimming pool and a good continental breakfast.
Perfect for business and family travelers to Buenos Aires. Easy and quick departure to airports because of the driveway in front and two blocks away from the Avenue to the airports.
Sagardi Loft Ostería is located in the center of San Telmo. Just a few meters away from Plaza Dorrego. Next to the 3-star hotel, there is a restaurant from the same owners. Great place for dinner. Afterward, you can go to one of the many bars around.

Around the hotel, there are many restaurants. For example, a very good steakhouse is almost around the corner.

Madero Urbana Suites is located in a zone between San Telmo and Puerto Madero. Ideal to start your day trip. From some rooms, you have a beautiful view of the old port of Buenos Aires.
The hotel doesn’t really feel like a hotel. They are suites that you rent. Breakfast is by take away service or delivered to your room door. I would then go into town for breakfast. It is a modern building with a large swimming pool.
I recommend Madero Urbano Suites for travelers looking for a spacious room and swimming pool without too many facilities. Two-three blocks around the building there is nothing to see or do. But perfect for heading to San Telmo.
A classic traditional hotel in San Telmo is Kenton Palace. Spacious rooms and great hospitality by the staff. It has a small inside pool to relax and the buffet breakfast is just fine.
The benefit of this hotel is of course the location. Near the main central square in Buenos Aires and San Telmo. Especially on Sundays, you are just a few minutes away from the San Telmo market. Two blocks away you find one of the best tango shows in the city.
Last but not least in the best hotels in San Telmo list. 3-star hotel Ribera Sur is located in San Telmo between two popular avenues. From the outside, it doesn’t look too nice. However, inside it is a hidden gem. Green terrace with a pool and the noise fades away.
I need to be honest, the street location is not the best but perfect for your trip to San Telmo and other parts of Buenos Aires. Recently there is in front a MetroBus system. Which takes you quickly to all parts of town.
Cozy rooms, great hospitality, and breakfast.
