Short answer: As a tourist, the realistic way to see Boca Juniors at La Bombonera is a matchday experience with a local contact. A standing ticket costs around USD 200: you meet your guide at a meeting point near the stadium, walk to La Bombonera together and your guide takes you to your place in the stand. For the Superclásico against River Plate, prices start at USD 600. Tickets almost never go on public sale (they are for club members, the “socios”), so avoid street sellers and resale sites. Match dates are only confirmed about two weeks in advance.

Looking to buy tickets for a Boca Juniors football match? It’s doable, but let’s be honest: they are incredibly limited. Don’t worry, though—there’s a proven way for tourists to get their hands on one! See the upcoming Boca Juniors home games and request your tickets.
In this guide, I’ll share the best way to secure your seat at La Bombonera, explain why the system is so “unique,” and help you avoid the scams that break many travelers’ hearts.
Attending a match here is a bucket-list dream. Boca Juniors plays at the iconic La Bombonera in the heart of the La Boca district in Buenos Aires. While the stadium holds around 49,000 people, the demand is ten times that.

Why is it so hard to get Boca Juniors tickets?
To understand how to get in, you have to understand the “Socio” system.
A few years ago, ticket sales were handed over entirely to supporters’ groups called Socios. Local fans subscribe to a waiting list for a member card, and the wait time currently sits at over 6 years. Because of this, tickets almost never go on public sale.
The “Grey Market” Reality:
Since members often can’t attend every game, they lend their seasonal pass (member card) to brokers or agencies for a fee. This is how 99% of tourists get in. Trying to do this on your own on the street is hopeless and frankly dangerous due to the high volume of fake cards.

The Best Way to Get Tickets (Safely)
Since a couple of years, I have been working directly with Nicolas, a local expert who organizes professional football experiences in Buenos Aires (Boca Juniors, River Plate, and more).
Why I recommend this over a random website:
- Safety: You meet your guide at a quiet meeting point near Parque Lezama, about 1 km from the stadium, and walk to La Bombonera together.
- Expertise: Your guide takes you to your place in the stand and stays reachable on WhatsApp during the game.
- Guaranteed Entry: No fake tickets or “sorry, the card didn’t work.”
I’ve created a dedicated request page to make this easier. Nicolas will get in touch with you directly to coordinate.
How it works, step by step
- Check the upcoming Boca Juniors home games and send a request on this page.
- Nicolas contacts you directly to confirm availability and the price.
- The match date is confirmed about two weeks in advance (the AFA often moves games).
- On match day, take an Uber or taxi to the meeting point, usually in San Telmo near Parque Lezama, about 1 km from the stadium. It’s a quiet spot. You meet your guide and the group over a beer or another drink, and you get personal instructions for the rest of the day.
- You walk to La Bombonera together. Your guide takes you to your place in the stand and stays in contact with you on WhatsApp. If anything happens, they come straight away.
- After the match, you leave the stadium on your own. Calm usually returns quickly and the streets are safe: take a taxi or walk. If you prefer company, just ask and they’ll arrange it with you.
What match day feels like
On the walk to the stadium, the atmosphere builds: fans gather in the streets, there’s music, heavy drumming and now and then firecrackers and smoke. It’s impressive, and for some people a bit intimidating. Without a guide, you would get lost in the crowd. Your guide and Nicolas keep you calm and give clear instructions.
No tickets in the hardcore fan section
For your safety, Nicolas doesn’t offer tickets in the hardcore fan section. If someone else offers you one, don’t accept.
Boca vs River (Superclásico) tickets
The Superclásico is the most popular match of the year, and the prices show it: expect to pay from USD 600. We don’t set these prices: the socios who lend their member cards ask this for the biggest game of the season. Request Superclásico tickets here.
Why a local contact matters
Bring your passport: you sometimes have to show it at the checkpoints. Nicolas guides you smoothly through all the controls. Getting into a match in Argentina works very differently than in Europe or North America, with their official ticketing systems: here, it’s about who you know. That’s why having a local contact is essential.
⚠️ Avoiding Scams and Fake Tickets
The market is full of “too good to be true” offers. Here is what to watch out for:
- Viagogo: I personally do not trust or recommend them for Argentina. High cancelation rates and zero local support.
- Street Sellers: Do NOT buy tickets outside the stadium. They are almost 100% fake, and you will be turned away at the three different police checkpoints.
- Pricing: Expect to pay around USD 200 for a standing ticket, and from USD 600 for the Superclásico. If someone offers a “Boca ticket” for $50, it’s a scam.
When to Book (The “Argentina Factor”)
In Argentina, the AFA (Football Association) is famous for changing match dates at the last minute.
- The Rule: Match dates are usually only “confirmed” about two weeks in advance.
- My Pro Tip: When booking your flights, arrive a few days before the scheduled weekend and leave a few days after. Things shift constantly, and you don’t want to miss the game because it moved from Sunday to Monday!
Plan B: Visit the Museum and Stadium Tour
If a match isn’t happening during your stay or tickets are out of budget, you must still visit the stadium.
- The Experience: A guided tour through the stadium and the Museo de la Pasión Boquense.
- My Advice: Book your tickets online in advance to skip the massive lines that form daily.
I’ve visited the stadium with friends and family more times than I can count, and the atmosphere in La Boca is electric even on non-match days.
FAQ: Boca Juniors tickets

Around USD 200 for a standing ticket. For the Superclásico against River Plate, prices start at USD 600. If someone offers a Boca ticket for USD 50, it is a scam.

Hi Saldana,
Yes, we can help with tickets for the Boca Juniors vs River Plate Superclásico on November 1.
Please contact us through the form on our website, and I’ll put you in touch with Nicolás, who handles the football tickets and can provide you with the available options and prices.
Looking forward to helping you experience the Superclásico in Buenos Aires!
I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance if possible. The closer to the game, the more expensive the tickets will be, but it’s worth it to avoid the long lines and crowds.
Just wanted to say thank you! We were really nervous after reading about how difficult it was to get tickets to a Boca juniors match. Landingpadba were wonderful! Funny guides, well organized and great seats! Muchas gracias!! Which tango show do you like the best?
I got tickets from Wander Argentina as a surprise for my hubby for his birthday. They were cheaper than anywhere else and amazing seats by the field.
Lucy – can you email me about your experience with Wander Argentina? lakersjesse8@yahoo.com
Hi Glenn! Thank you for honestly stating, that it is “impossible” to get the ticket for mens matches. But what about womens team? Are there higher chances for a tourist? Do you have any idea how can one get there? Thanks!
Hi Karel, I’m not really informed about the womens team. I will try to get some info and updates as soon as possible.
Hi Glenn, after 51 years i will finally be in Argentina to hopefully see Boca play against Arsenal on 3/11, can you please provide the absolute best way if any I can get 2 tickets to this game please. I am coming from Australia finally and would hate to miss this chance to see them live as I will never get this chance again, any help would be much appreciated, thanks George
Hi George, thank you for visiting our website and welcome to Buenos Aires. Getting tickets for Boca Juniors is difficult. I would suggest contacting Landingpadba. This is not a guarantee for getting the tickets. At this moment there are no other ways. Have a pleasant stay in Argentina 😉 Cheers.
Why don’t you trust viagogo?
Hi Bruce, travelers contacted us with their review about Viagogo. Often we receive the story of fake tickets or cancellation at the very last moment. Therefore, the chance of a valid ticket and that you will actually see the game is very low.
Is there other trusted companies that sell tickets for Boca matches? Thank you
Hi Roger, the only trusted way at this moment is Landingpadba. Cheers!
