Overview

El Viejo Almacen Tango Show has been delivering top-level tango performances for 50 years. I was once again captivated by the incredible tango dances they performed, all accompanied by a live orchestra and complemented by alternating live singers, adding to the authentic experience.

Dinner takes place in their restaurant just across the street, offering a peaceful and cozy atmosphere to enjoy your meal. After dinner, you’ll walk a short 20 meters back to the historic and charming El Viejo Almacen venue for the tango show.

The dinner itself was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. Drinks are included with the dinner option, and you also get two drinks during the show.

What’s even better is that the El Viejo Almacen Tango Show is one of the longest performances I’ve experienced. It lasts around 1 hour and 40 minutes, but the time flies by because the show is so engaging and enjoyable.

A last minute change was no problem
I booked a dinner and tango show with SOBA for 6 of us for Mar 9th but just one day before, our flight to BA was cancelled and we were going to miss it. Glenn kindly allowed us to move it ahead two weeks (for after our cruise) with no extra charge. The booking process was easy and clear and he sent reminder and confirmation emails so I didn’t have to worry about anything. Our pick-up and drop-off at the hotel was straightforward and the driver was great. Our dinner and tango night was delicious and delightful as promised. Thank you Glenn! I would definitely use Secrets of Buenos Aires again and recommend it to friends.

Easiest way to book a complete tango experience!
Website was very helpful in providing overview of the tango experiences available. Easy to make a reservation – and include transportation. Glenn contacted us immediately with ticket information and sent a follow up message a few days before our event to go over particulars. I always felt he was available if I had any questions.

An enjoyable evening
Generally a very smooth experience shuttle collected on time and we were met at the restaurant door and taken to our table for dinner, food and drink plentiful and good quality with a very friendly waitress. The tango show was literally in an equally historic building a few metres away and the entertainment did not disappoint with the added bonus of a guest artist. It had a great atmosphere although quite crowded. It was busy on leaving but we found our shuttle okay and were driven back to our hotel.

Glenn (Secrets of Buenos Aires) provided knowledgeable, objective descriptions and differentiations of each tango venue depending on the clients’ interest. We received excellent seating, I am sure due to being his clients (and paying the VIP menu also!) The show was professional and authentic, and the food and wine of the appropriate level. His evaluations of local restaurants were helpful and accurate, too. Most of all, he was always accessible to us via email or WhatsApp, and responded rapidly, usually within 3 hours. That’s service and value added!!
