The airports in Buenos Aires

There are two major airports in Buenos Aires: Ministro Pistarini International Airport also known as Ezeiza or EZE and Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Newbery also known as Aeroparque or AEP.

At EZE airport most of the international flights arrive from Central and North America and Europe. While at AEP airport most domestic flights are taken place there. Nevertheless, both airports have domestic and international flights. Double-check always the airport of departure.

How early should you get to the airport in Buenos Aires?

When traveling only with carry-on luggage the process will go a bit smoother. I give you here the times if you are traveling with checked-in luggage.

Do you have an international flight departing from EZE (Ezeiza) airport? I recommend being at the airport 3 hours prior to the departure time. In the case of a domestic flight, you should be at EZE airport 2 hours before departure.

Departing from AEP (Aeroparque) airport? If you have an international flight from AEP I recommend to be at the airport 3 hours before the departure. For a domestic flight, 1,5 hours is fine.

Always check the airline for any delay or change and their suggestions.

When departing from your hotel in Buenos Aires?

Traffic in Buenos Aires is often hectic, especially on weekdays and Saturdays. The only day it is a bit quieter is Sunday. Are you departing for an international flight from EZE? Then I advise you to depart from your hotel 4 hours before the flight departure. Do you have an international flight from AEP? Then I leave 3,5h before departure from the hotel in Buenos Aires center.

The ride from Buenos Aires city to Ezeiza takes around 40-50 minutes without traffic and AEP around 25 minutes.

This will give you enough time to arrive at the airport on time.

  1. Discovered this site while searching for information on rides to/from the EZE airport. We booked a total of 4 rides (2 round-trips) to and from the airport including one with a very early morning departure. The driver was early in picking us up and the journey was very smooth. The drivers were all courteous and safe during our rides. I highly recommend using the Secrets site for booking car travel to/from the airport.
