Fogón Asado began a few years ago as a unique gourmet asado experience in Buenos Aires. Asado, a traditional Argentine barbecue, features various cuts of meat slow-cooked over an open fire. At Fogón Asado, they elevate this experience—but is it truly worth visiting? I decided to find out.

Fogón Asado in Buenos Aires

What started as a private dining spot in one location in Buenos Aires has now grown to two locations in Palermo. Over time, it’s become more popular with tourists. The idea is simple: it’s private dining, and from the outside, you’d never guess it’s a restaurant. It feels like a secret spot in Buenos Aires, which gives it a cool and unique vibe right from the start.

To get into Fogón Asado, you ring the doorbell. The hosts greet you and lead you to the counter seats, all arranged around the Fire Barbecue. It’s such a cool setup—sitting super close to the chef, you can watch every move as they prepare the food. It makes the whole experience feel really special and interactive. But the vibe is not the most important thing, that is the food.

Note: if you want to go to Fogón? Make your reservation well in advance. I give you here the link for online reservation.

The menu at Fogón

During the night, you can go for a wine pairing with an amazing 14-course dinner—and honestly, it was delicious. Every part of the menu felt like a little surprise. The slow-cooked meat was spot-on, and they gave each traditional Argentine dish a gourmet twist that really took it to the next level.

I was genuinely impressed with the food. The wines and the staff made it even better. They explain everything and show you how it’s made, so you feel totally involved in the Argentine kitchen and get a real sense of how it all comes together.

I’m not going to spoil the fun by listing every dish they served. That would ruin the secret and the surprise for when you decide to go!

Conclusion

Is Fogón Asado in Buenos Aires worth a visit? Absolutely! And it’s not just me who thinks so—Fogón has caught the attention of the Michelin guides and is even ranked as the 36th best steakhouse in the world.

It is a very nice night out when you are in Buenos Aires. Do you want to visit too? I strongly recommend making a reservation well in advance! I make a link below directly to the booking page.
